Recognition of the Crisis Intervention Team |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY |
Our district's Crisis Intervention Team is composed of school psychologists, school social workers, and school health nurses who are employed within the Department of Student Support Services. The team responds to schools when crises are experienced, such as the death of a student, teacher or faculty member. The services provided by our Crisis Intervention Team include: individual/group counseling, classroom/large group inservice presentations, consultation with faculty and administration, parent conferences, and agency referrals. During the last school year, our team responded to 54 schools that experienced a crisis. The team members receive calls for assistance late into the evening and often early in the morning hours. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to the students, faculties, and families in our district. |
