SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Signing of Quitclaim Deed in Favor of Tampa Housing Authority, Relating to Former Meacham Elementary School Property
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
In 2007, the School Board conveyed to the Tampa Housing Authority all right, title, and interest in the former site of Meacham Elementary School. The Housing Authority is now conveying part of that property to the City of Tampa. As part of the transaction, the title insurance company has requested confirmation that the School Board’s 2007 conveyance to the Housing Authority included mineral rights. It did and until title companies began applying heightened scrutiny to the subject, deeds were regarded as including mineral rights, as was the case here. This deed does not relinquish or affect any right or holding of the School Board not already conveyed in 2007, but allows the Housing Authority to complete the title insurance search.
