Approve Lease Agreement Between Hillsborough County and the School Board of Hillsborough County for Agricultural Land at Turkey Creek Middle School |
|
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
An informal agreement has existed for several years between Hillsborough County and the School Board of Hillsborough County to use County owned land adjacent to Turkey Creek Middle School for the school's agricultural program. During meetings between staff of both the County and the School District, it was agreed that a Lease Agreement should be formally adopted by both the County and School Board to clarify property ownership, use and maintenance between the parties. The School Board will be leasing the land from the County and will be executing the Agreement first and the Board of County Commissioners, as the property owner, on December 5, 2012. The attached Lease Agreement is for approximately 5.11 acres adjacent to the school's western boundary. It will automatically renew on an annual basis with either party having the right to terminate with 90 days written notice; existing improvements constructed by the School District will remain District property, but any additional improvements will need to be approved by the County. During the term of this Lease, the District will be responsible for all maintenance and repairs to the site, along with payment of the utilities servicing the leased premises. |
