Approve Extending the Contract with Capstone Digital to Provide the myOn Reader to all Students (PreK-8) in Hillsborough County (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On January 24, 2012, the Board approved the community-based reading initiative “Read On myOn” between Hillsborough County Public Schools, the Children's Board of Hillsborough County, Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative, United Way Suncoast, Tampa Housing Authority, Early Learning Coalition and Board of County Commissioners Head Start that provided all the children of Hillsborough County (preK-8) with access to myOn Reader from Capstone Digital.

myOn Reader is a comprehensive personalized reading environment that will enable children and students to access the largest integrated, interactive library of enhanced and engaging digital books at home, school, public libraries, community centers or anywhere they have access to the Internet.

Capstone will continue to provide myOn reader subscription licenses and a full-time dedicated consultant/project manager who will manage and support the program to ensure consistency in meeting the district and Children’s Board goals for the project. The project manager will implement and deliver professional development by working directly with the Children’s Board, district administrators, and teachers. The Children's Board and its partners will continue to work with the Project Manager to establish enrollment processes for those children not enrolled in school.
