SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Three Component Additions to the Master Plan for In-service Education
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Florida Statute Section 1012.98 requires that each district school board shall develop and maintain an in-service educational training program. Descriptions of training programs offered for in-service credit are incorporated into the Master Plan for In-service Education. The revision of the Master Plan for In-service Education is approved annually by the School Board and Florida Department of Education. During the year, specific training needs arise that require new courses to be developed and added to the master plan.
The attached components, Common Core Standards: Creating Text-Based Questions, Introduction to Close Reading Instruction, and Identifying and Evaluating Text Complexity are being added to the Master In-service Plan to support teachers in the transition over to Common Core State Standards. |
