On October 19, 2012, the Procurement Department, in conjunction with the Safety and Risk Management Department, issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for insurance administration services.  The purpose of this RFP is to seek qualified firms to provide claims management services regarding workers' compensation, auto, and general liability.

Three vendors responded and their proposals were evaluated by a committee of district personnel.  All the firms were selected for presentations and the committee recommended awarding to the highest ranked and lowest cost firm, Broadspire. 

The initial term of this contract is for five years with two, one-year renewals.  The Superintendent is authorized to approve the renewal, per the terms of the specifications.

These funds are, or will be, included in the Workers' Compensation Funding budget in an approximate amount per year of $680,000 for a five-year period.

Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report.  Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract.
