Approve the Position of Director, Community/Parent Involvement and Supplemental Educational Services
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On January 15, 2013, the Board approved the receipt of grant funds from the Triad Foundation and the Conn Memorial Foundation.   The purpose of this school/community position, which will report directly to the Superintendent's office, is to provide better communication with all schools and our community stakeholders. Title I schools will also receive the benefit of additional business partnerships and provide opportunities in the community for students to receive additional learning.  This position will also oversee the district's supplemental educational services tutoring program and be responsible for Title I Parent Involvement requirements.   The Student Services and Federal Programs Division will delete the Supervisor of Title I Parent and Community Involvement.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
$35,000 will come from the Triad Foundation grant award, $15,000 will come from the Conn Memorial Foundation grant award, and $50,000 will come from Title I funds.  The deletion of the Supervisor of Parent and Community Involvement, which was paid 40% with general revenue funds, will result in a district cost savings of $ 49,926.42 including fringe.      
EVALUATION
By December 2013, the district will evaluate the goals of the grant application.  A satisfaction survey will be conducted to district and partner stakeholders to determine the project's success.
