Action Item |
DATE: | Tuesday, April 23, 2013 |
TO: | School Board Members |
FROM: | MaryEllen Elia, Superintendent |
SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Grant Application Submissions Between April 23, 2013, and December 31, 2014, by the Department of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (CTAE); Accept all Grant Funds Generated Through Awarded Grant Applications During that Time Period (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Because the majority of grant Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Application (RFA) are released with 30-45 days notice or less, the CTAE Office is not able to request the Board’s approval on individual projects. CTAE will report on a quarterly basis, through a Friday Report or other format, an update on approved grants, purpose of grants, and amounts approved. All grant applications are authored in collaboration with appropriate district staff and under the guidance of district administrators. All grant applications target projects that support district goals and initiatives.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
Based on past performance, it is estimated that grant funds received by the district through the efforts of the CTAE Office will total over $6,000,000 during this time frame; these funds are included in the district’s divisional special revenue/federal programs budget.
EVALUATION | |
Project Directors are responsible for reporting progress in meeting performance targets to funding agencies.
