SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Career Compass, LLC (Administration Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Career Compass, LLC is a Hillsborough County based, minority owned business.  The President of Career Compass, Hayley Norman, is an expert on mentoring who speaks to audiences worldwide about the topic.  The district worked with Career Compass to develop the initial training program for assistant principal mentors.  The consultants will now train a second group of fifty mentors.  They will also train six master mentors who will be certified to conduct the mentor training with all future mentor cohorts.  All mentor training activities support the continued development of the district assistant principal competencies.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum • Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $44,250 will be available from the Title 2 Leadership Development Funds.
EVALUATION
The evaluation will include feedback from mentors as to the effectiveness of the training program.  A second component of the evaluation will include feedback from assistant principals who are assigned mentors and the impact these mentors have had on their practice.  Assistant principal evaluation results will be included to show growth in performance levels.
