| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Dr. Scott Rudes, Principal of Orange Grove Middle Magnet School of the Arts, received the 2013 League Educator Apple Award by The Broadway League, the national trade organization for the commercial theatre industry.
The award acknowledges the efforts of teachers and administrators who support programs relating to Broadway or Touring Broadway shows, promoting further development of theatre education. Dr. Rudes was nominated by the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts for his remarkable leadership and his ongoing collaboration with the Patel Conservatory and the Broadway Education Project. Orange Grove became a middle magnet school in 1998, and is home to 540 students in grades 6, 7 and 8. Students travel from all over Hillsborough County to attend Orange Grove Middle Magnet School of the Arts. |
