SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Renewal Workforce Education Fee Schedule for Adult Student Tuition, Financial Aid, and Capital Improvement for Postsecondary Technical and Adult Education Programs, 2013/2014 (Career, Technical, and Adult Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We are requesting that the current tuition rates per hour for postsecondary technical and adult education programs be approved with no increase for the 2013/2014 school year.  The recommended hourly rate is based on state required fees, student intent, and student residency status.

The fee structure provides the best possible adult general education and high-skill, high-wage occupational training in the most cost effective delivery of services.  This year, the tuition increase which was passed by the Legislature and included in the General Appropriations Act was vetoed by the Governor.  The official required fee memorandum was issued July 2, 2013, stating that the tuition rates for 2013/2014 are to be the same as 2012/2013 rates.  The statutory reference related to Workforce fees is Section 1009.22, F.S.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

These fees are part of the local required effort and are included in the Workforce Education general operating budget.
