SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Renewal Contract Categorical Funding with the State of Florida, Department of Health, for School Health Services (Instructional Support Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This contract renewal is in effect July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014. Categorical funding is provided annually through the State General Revenue dollars and used to fund RN school nurse positions, fringes, travel, and training.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $485,802 from the General Appropriations Act, Human Services Budget (State of Florida General Revenue Dollars) are used to fund RN school nurse positions, fringes, travel, and training.
EVALUATION
The annual report and plan are submitted to the State of Florida, Department of Health. Data is collected from monthly reports submitted by school nurses.
