Accept the Piggyback of the State of Florida Alternate Contract Source Agreement #252-030-09-ACS - Commercial Off-the-Shelf Software with Software House International (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The district will be utilizing the State of Florida, Department of Management Services (DMS) agreement to purchase the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium software.  This software performs as a toolkit for professional design and web development to create graphics and images, lay out high-impact print pages, build HTML5/CSS3 websites, and design for tablets and smartphones.  The Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 allows for video editing across multiple platforms.  This software will be utilized by students and teachers in all 27 high schools for the purpose of Career and Technical Education programs, including Communication Technology, Digital Design, Television Production, and Web Development.

The term of the DMS contract is effective through May 1, 2014.   In accordance with this agreement, due to the size of the order, the Procurement Department was allowed to engage in direct negotiations with the reseller and the software manufacturer to obtain additional discounts.

This software purchase will be funded by weighted full-time equivalent (FTE) generated from earning industry certifications in Career and Technical Education programs in the amount of $226,580.  Through negotiations, the district saved $13,665.
EVALUATION
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team.  Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report.  Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract.
