Approve Deed Conveying Additional Road Right-of-Way to Hillsborough County at Sligh and Orient Roads for Signalization Project and Pipeline Easement to Florida Gas Transmission for Intersection Improvements at Tampa Bay Technical High School

Hillsborough County Public Works has proposed to construct intersection improvements at Sligh and Orient Roads, along the northeastern boundary of Tampa Bay Technical High School.  These improvements would include the construction of a right turn-lane and upgraded traffic signalization that would improve traffic flow for the school.  A donation of 1,285 square fee of additional right-of-way from the School Board is being requested by the County.  The County Administrator has authorized this project by Delegated Authority dated May 20, 2013.

As part of the overall intersection project, the gas lines in the area will need to be relocated along the northern and eastern boundaries of the School property.  Florida Gas has submitted a ground easement fee of $5,000 and $2,500 for expenses incurred by the School District for legal review of the easement documents.  A Certificate of Liability Insurance has been provided.

Conveying additional road right-of-way at Sligh and Orient Road to Hillsborough County for intersection improvements for Tampa Bay Technical High School will have no financial impact to the School District.  Florida Gas Transmission Company has paid a $5,000 ground easement fee and $2,500 toward the District's legal fees.
