Approve Agreement with Agile Mind to Provide the Agile Mind Algebra I Program to High School Students in Hillsborough County (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | ||
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | ||
Agile Mind proposes to provide 5,500 students, 100 teachers, and 27 high school campuses with its Agile Mind Algebra I Program. The Agile Mind Algebra I program provides the tools and support that teachers need to ensure high achievement effectively among a significantly larger, and more diverse, number of their students. In using their encompassing resources for instruction, homework, formative assessment, embedded test preparation, job-embedded professional development, and reports on student progress, teachers enact and sustain rigorous, well-scaffolded instruction and practice by students that ensure academic success. The ongoing use of interactive animations of key concepts and interactive problem solving further instills in students the engagement, the persistence, and the consistency of learning practices to succeed.
Our experience with Agile Mind has shown their research-based comprehensive program to be successful for our below proficiency students during the 2012/2013 school year. This program offers job-embedded professional development to enhance the strategies used by our educators in an effort to create meaningful learning experiences. We are very excited to be able to expand and offer this program to all our high schools and watch our students become a community of high achieving learners. This agreement shall terminate on June 30, 2018. |
