School Activity Funds for Fiscal Year 2011-2012

Audits for the 245 school sites with internal accounts were conducted during the 2012-2013 school year.  In the opinion of the District Auditing Office, financial and operational management of the School Activity Funds is satisfactory and generally in compliance with statutes, regulations, and School Board policies, with specific exceptions noted.

Summary of Results:
Exemplary audits 115 school sites or 47%
Satisfactory audits 126 school sites or 51%
Unsatisfactory audits 4 school sites or 2%

Please note: Since last year, five additional schools achieved an exemplary rating while the number of unsatisfactory schools decreased by two.  Twenty-three school sites have received an exemplary rating for more than five consecutive years.  School sites with unsatisfactory ratings submitted a corrective action plan to their Area Leadership Director.  The majority of unsatisfactory ratings were related to new or inexperienced personnel.   To assist them, increased training, peer mentoring, Area Leadership Director involvement, and a review of personnel assignments was implemented.
