| Approve Memorandum of Agreement Between Lighthouse Guidance Systems, Inc. (LGS) and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (Instructional Support Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| LGS is a Florida-based intermediate and secondary education technology company and the innovator of LGS Connect, a short message service (SMS) driven software program that satisfies the Florida statute which mandates every student to complete a personalized college and career educational electronic plan. Upon approval, LGS will provide services to the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, by way of a licensed internet program application for all middle and high schools. LGS will allow students to create personalized academic plans and projections in accordance with local and state programs of study, diploma designations, and college and university GPA admission standards. This program will provide fast and timely communication between guidance counselors, students, and parents. It will also allow students to develop a personalized multi-year academic program of study, while also giving parents and students an enhanced view of their grades and test scores the way the state of Florida, colleges, and universities view them academically. Services will initially launch in fall 2013. The initial term of this contract shall be for a one-year period beginning August 14, 2013, and end July 30, 2014.
This agreement shall automatically renew for successive two-year terms. |
