Recognition of the 2013 Mu Alpha Theta National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society Huneke Distinguished Sponsor Award (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Each year the Huneke Award honors a sponsor who has made significant contributions to Mu Alpha Theta. Mu Alpha Theta sponsors are a very special group of dedicated teachers who encourage and nurture their member’s interest in mathematics and spend numerous hours before or after school, nights and weekends to prepare for and take students to competitions.

A mathematics teacher at Tampa Bay Technical High School was recently awarded the Huneke Award at the National Mu Alpha Theta Convention in San Diego, California. This teacher relinquished a week or more of her summer vacation to bring students to the convention. Her dedication allowed these students an amazing opportunity to interact with students from around the country and participate in a variety of mathematics competitions.

This remarkable achievement serves as a testament to her dedication, adherence to high academic standards, and reflects what a valuable asset she is to Hillsborough County Public Schools
