The 2014 Employee Benefits Annual Enrollment
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Employee Benefits Annual Open Enrollment for 2014 begins Monday, September 23, 2013, and ends Wednesday, October 2, 2013.  There will be three Annual Enrollment meetings (one with a Health Fair) that employees/retirees/dependents (members) may attend:

  • September 25 (Wednesday), 3:30 - 6 p.m., Bloomingdale High Auditorium
  • September 28 (Saturday), 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Gaither High Auditorium (Humana-sponsored Health Fair in the Gaither High mall area)
  • October 1 (Tuesday), 4 - 6 p.m., Armwood High Auditorium

Members are invited to attend these meetings to discuss their benefits with various product representatives and Employee Benefits staff members, participate in the Humana Health Fair (Gaither High), and even get their annual flu shots (as supplies last and provided members bring their HCPS Humana ID cards).  Each meeting will include a presentation highlighting the major features of the five health plans, the Rx4 Prescription Drug Plan, and the various voluntary benefits plans.

This year we are introducing a fun new way for employees to learn about their benefits – “ALEX” from Jellyvision.  ALEX is an entertaining, interactive benefits advisor who can help employees better understand their benefit options.  ALEX provides a visual and auditory, easy-to-understand, explanation of the benefit plans. He even provides a comparison of the premium and out-of-pocket costs an employee could expect to pay for each health plan, based on information specific to the employee.  Interacting with ALEX will help our employees elect the plan that is the best choice for them and their families.  In addition to ALEX and the enrollment meetings, employees can find more information by reading their InfoQuick 2014 Annual Enrollment Guides, visiting the website, watching the enrollment videos, and calling the Humana hotline at (888) 393-6765. Enrollment guides are available in Spanish, and Employee Benefits personnel, who speak Spanish, will be available at all three meetings.

Employees and retirees can make their 2014 benefits elections in one of two easy ways:

  • Go to the web site at www.sdhc.selfservicenow.com to enter their elections
  • Call Aon at 1.866.522.9133 to have their elections entered for them
