EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Local Child Care Funds contract provides funding used as dollar-for-dollar match for the Child Care Purchasing Pool.  These funds provide child care and early education services for children from income-eligible families.  The term of this contract is October 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013.  Amendment #1 provides an increase of $150,000 to be used for the Child Care Executive Partnership Program (CCEPP) match funding. Amendment #1 of the Local Child Care Funds contract was approved by the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County on September 9, 2013.  The final version of amendment #1 was received in our office on September 17, 2013, with the effective date of August 1, 2013, so that expenses for services provided in August 2013, and September 2013, can be reimbursed.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
•Â Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
Amendment #1 provides an increase of $150,000 to CCEPP funds.  This increase plus the additional 100 percent CCEPP matching federal/state funds totaling $300,000 is used for direct services to children.  These funds allowed for the full support of approximately 75 additional child care slots at an average annual rate of $4,000 per child.
EVALUATION
Each year the financial statements are audited by Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, as prescribed by law.  This funding for Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County is provided by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County.  The School Readiness Program uses these funds to purchase child care in Hillsborough County.  There is no district-generated revenue used for this purchase.
