SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services for Amzur Technologies to Provide WebSphere Portal Systems Support (Information and Technology Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
This agreement is needed to provide contracted WebSphere Portal Administration services necessary to maintain the operation of WebSphere Portal systems within the district’s data center. Teacher and principal dashboards and enhancements to the Student Information System are dependent on WebSphere Portal software. The technical services, to be provided by one technical administrator, are for the operation and maintenance of the WebSphere Portal, including performance tuning, Portal troubleshooting and resolution, Portal and server upgrades, applying software fixes, configuring Portal security, setting up Portal interoperability with required applications and databases, documentation and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
In order to minimize cost, the district’s long-term objective is to maintain these skillsets in-house. Recent turnover in staff has forced outsourcing of this area of expertise. Amzur Technologies was awarded a service contract through RFP #9090-DST: IT Supplemental Staffing in July 2013, to provide a single WebSphere Administrator, for a period of three months, in support of the IBM WebSphere Portal solution. The IT Supplemental Staffing contract is expired and in the process of being rebid. This Agreement for Technical Services is required to allow services from Amzur Technologies to continue for six additional months. |
