EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) is awarded annually to outstanding K-12 mathematics and science teachers.  This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding contributions of mathematics teachers in Florida and represents the highest honors bestowed by the United States government.

Selection committees of outstanding scientists, mathematicians, and educators review PAEMST applications at the state and national levels.  Nominees are then sent to the White House of Science and Technology Policy and to the President for final selection.

A mathematics teacher from Hillsborough County Public Schools has been selected as one of the state-level mathematics finalists.  Her accomplishments and commitment to excellence in mathematics education are to be applauded as she represents the state of Florida during the national selection process.
