SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Naming of the Field House at Jefferson High School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Jefferson High School faculty, staff and community members have requested that the field house at Jefferson High School be named the Rick Casares Field House in honor of Rick Casares.

Mr. Casares played football, baseball and basketball for Jefferson High School, as well as setting the state record in the javelin toss.  Mr. Casares attended the University of Florida where he also played football and basketball.  Mr. Casares was selected five times to the National Football League Pro Bowl.  Mr. Casares played football for the Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins.

Mr. Casares passed away on September 13, 2013, and the faculty, staff and community members feel that it would be a fitting honor to name the field house in honor of Rick Casares.
