SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with National SAM Innovation Project (NSIP) for Area Leadership Directors (ALD) (Administration Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Administration Manager (SAM) Project, funded by Wallace, will provide ALDs with the training and tools needed to increase the amount of time spent in schools supporting principal development.  Following an initial training session designed to familiarize ALDs with practices that will enhance principal performance, they will be given access to an online Time Track Calendar that will allow them to track the time spent in schools and the specific outcomes associated with the time.  The training will begin in December 2013 and will continue through January 2015 through face-to-face training sessions, online webinars, and attendance at the National SAM Conference.  Baseline data showing how ALDs currently spend their time will be collected in December, and again in one year to show growth.

Funding for this project is provided by The Wallace Foundation in the amount of $59,400.
EVALUATION
In order to evaluate the impact of the SAM Project, we will track ALD time spent on instructional leadership activities in their schools compared with principal performance data and student achievement data.  We will track this data over time.
