Approve Proposed Attendance Boundary for J. Vince Thompson Elementary School and the Accompanying Boundary Adjustments for Cypress Creek and Ruskin Elementary Schools |
|
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
J. Vince Thompson Elementary School will open in August 2014. It is located at 2020 E. Shell Point Rd. adjacent to Lennard High School. The proposed attendance boundary will provide relief to both Cypress Creek and Ruskin Elementary Schools. This proposal will have an impact on the adjacent school boundaries of Ruskin and Cypress Creek which are proposed to be adjusted accordingly to reflect the new Thompson Boundary. A parent information meeting was held on January 14, 2014 where parents could ask questions of various District staff members and review the proposed boundaries. Attached to this item is a summary of the meeting, including questions asked as well as enrollment projections for the 2014-15 school year for all three schools. Also attached are maps depicting the proposed attendance boundaries for all 3 schools. |
