Adoption of Proclamation - Youth Art Month, March 2014 (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Council for Art Education and the National Art Education Association has designated March 2014 as Youth Art Month. Youth Art Month serves to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality art programs. It also provides a forum for acknowledging skills fostered through experience in the visual arts that are not possible in other subjects offered in the curriculum.
Art education programs develop creativity, critical thinking skills, communication, and collaboration to assure our students' success in the twenty-first century. Attached is a proclamation that Hillsborough County Public Schools will observe the month of March 2014 as Youth Art Month. |
