EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On September 11, 2012, the Hillsborough County School Board, in accordance with Florida Statute 1001.42, approved the Bay Area Schools Purchasing Consortium (BASPC) Interlocal Agreement. This statute states, “Each district school board shall enter into an interlocal agreement as provided in s.163.01 for the purpose of establishing the School District Consortium and maximizing the purchasing power for goods and services.”
The School Board of Polk County, Florida, served as the lead agency for automotive batteries and on August 27, 2013, awarded all items to Battery USA, Inc. This recommendation has been reviewed by the General Manager, Transportation Department. The term of this contract is for a one-year period beginning August 28, 2013. In accordance with Florida Department of Education, Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(6), in lieu of requesting competitive solicitations from three or more sources, district school boards may make purchases at or below the specified prices from contracts awarded by other city or county governmental agencies, or other district school boards. |

EVALUATION | |
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract. | |
