A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for renovation of the HVAC system at Mintz Elementary School.  On October 22, 2013, the Board appointed Lyle Engineering Group, Inc. to provide design services.  The scope of work includes replacement of air handlers and ductwork; a new energy management control system; new energy efficient interior fluorescent lighting and LED walkway lighting; new ceilings; fire alarm upgrades; installation of a fire sprinkler system; and data network improvements.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation).  Award of the contract for construction to  Kenyon & Partners, Inc., the low bidder for the base bid and alternates selected for implementation as indicated in the attachment,  is recommended.

Total funds in the amount of $3,665,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay:  Local Millage.   The contract amount being awarded is $3,660,000.
