SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Building Envelope and Interior Renovation at Hill Middle School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On July 30, 2013, the Board appointed C. B. Goldsmith and Associates, Inc. and Walbridge-Aldinger Company to provide design and construction management services for a project to address water intrusion and the potential failure of the brick exterior at Hill Middle School. The scope of work includes removal of the brick on selected exterior walls and replacement with a thin brick system matching the existing appearance. Repair of corroded structural members and replacement of selected exterior windows and doors is included in the project scope. (The recommended wall system will provide greater insulation than currently exists, yielding long-term energy cost savings) The scope also includes minor interior renovations (painting, whiteboards, lockers) and remodeling that complete the renovation requirements at the school. Project completion is scheduled for August 7, 2015. |
