Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Roof Replacement at Stewart Middle School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provided for replacement of selected roofs at Stewart Middle School.  District staff selected Weber & Tinnen, PA and Kenyon & Partners, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services.  The project scope provides for roof replacements on Building 2 (gymnasium, music, and locker rooms); partial areas of Building 3 (classrooms and central mechanical room); and partial areas of Building 4 (teacher dining).  As part of this project, the mechanical equipment located on the locker room roof area of Building 2 will be removed and reinstalled to allow for reroofing. Project completion is scheduled for July 31, 2014.

Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

Total construction cost is warranted as $1,384,295.  The construction budget is $1,385,000.  This item is included in the District Capital Outlay:  Local Millage.
