SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Developer's Agreement for Donation of Water Facilities for a Fire Line to the City of Tampa at Mort Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As part of the HVAC update and modification at Mort Elementary School, the School Board is required to install certain potable water facilities for a fire line within the school's southern boundary.  The plans for the fire line were submitted by the School Board to the City of Tampa's Water Department and approved.  The Agreement requires the School Board to donate these facilities to the City and the City will assume ownership, maintenance, and operation.  The School Board will guarantee the facilities against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of thirteen months.  It is the practice of the City of Tampa to sign their standard Developer's Agreement after it has been executed by the donating party.

At a later date, a water easement to the City will be requested from the School Board after the City has completed the process to accept the water facilities.  The easement will allow the City to have ingress/egress to the equipment located at Mort Elementary for continued maintenance and operation.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)

Approval of the Developer's Agreement between the City of Tampa and the School Board for donation of the water facilities for a fire line at Mort Elementary will have no financial impact to the School Board.
