Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Building Envelope Renovation at Memorial Middle School

Water intrusion at Memorial Middle School has resulted in interior damage to the school. District staff have implemented temporary measures to address the sources of water intrusion, but a more comprehensive renovation of the building envelope is required to prevent further damage to the facility.

Fleischman-Garcia Architects and Planners, AIA, PA and  Vogel Bros. Building Co. were selected by District staff from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services for a project to correct deficiencies in the building envelope.  The scope of work includes repointing of existing masonry joints; installation of new sealant at windows and other openings; repair of selected windows; and miscellaneous repairs to and repainting of all existing stucco panels.

Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project.

Project completion is scheduled for August 2014.

Total construction cost is warranted at $1,200,045.  Construction budget is $1,201,000.  This item is included in the District Capital Outlay:  Local Millage.
