| Approve Second Amendment to Interlocal Agreement for Educational Services with the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Fire Fighter Training by Learey Technical Center (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| We request approval of the Second Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement for Educational Services, which was approved by the School Board on June 12, 2012; and the First Amendment approved on June 11, 2013. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue requested this Amendment to accommodate an urgent increase in hiring of new personnel this year and the need for additional training. The Amendment increases the number of training hours and the amount the district will be paid.
This Amendment has been submitted by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue to be presented for consideration at the June 18, 2014, meeting of the Board of County Commissioners. If approved, this timeline provides the earliest execution date of the Amendment before the end of the school year, allowing the district to invoice the County and receive payment in a timely manner. |

| This item is included in the divisional general operating budget. The Occupational Completion Point (OCP) training programs provided for Hillsborough County fire fighters generate Workforce Education Funds. Hillsborough County will pay the district up to $1,206,654.86 for OCP program student tuition and Continuing Education Career Development instructor salaries and indirect costs. | |
