| Approve the Renewal of the Interagency Agreement with the Central Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc.; the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Central Region; the University of South Florida and the Hillsborough Local Planning Team (Instructional Support Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| In July 2010, Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) was awarded for a second time, the Integration of Schools and Mental Health Systems Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of this grant was to increase student access to high quality mental health care by developing innovative approaches that link the school system with local mental health providers. One of the products of this work is to develop an Interagency Agreement (IAA) between local providers and HCPS. This agreement is being renewed and the University of South Florida is being added as a partner.
The Supervisor of School Social Work Services will remain an active member of the Local Planning Team. This supervisor will serve as the liaison between the Local Planning Team and HCPS to sustain the efforts and continue to better link mental health services and schools. |
