SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve a Reorganization of the Information & Technology Division
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We are proposing a reorganization in the Information & Technology Division.

The recent IT Assessment conducted by Sunera, LLC outlined a new organizational structure for the Information and Technology Division.  Using the general plan as a long range goal, this first phase of reorganization outlines new departments and new leadership positions required in order to complete the work efficiently and with fidelity in a rapidly changing technological landscape.  Consultants from Sunera, LLC worked side by side with the CITO to develop this proposed organization.  (See Appendix A)

The proposed organization contains two types of position changes:  promotional and lateral.  For promotional changes, the HRMD process will be utilized with proper advertising, interview, and selection of applicants.  For lateral changes, the individual skill set of each employee will be analyzed in order to place the employee in an area of strength.  In most cases, the individual's daily work will change little, but the position title and description will now accurately reflect the work being completed. As has been outlined in the assessment report, there are no unit deletions related to the reorganization plan. All existing units are included.  All existing employees will remain employed in the IT division.
