| Approve the Purchase of BurlingtonEnglish Seat Licenses from Burlington English, Inc. (Sole-Source Provider) (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The BurlingtonEnglish Core program is designed to target the Adult Education English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) student population to assist them in developing English language proficiency. Because this program includes low, intermediate, and advance levels it can be utilized with all Adult Education students. BurlingtonEnglish will supplement the adult ESOL curriculum standards in improving student English language skills as well as assisting Adult General Education (AGE) Development. It should be noted that BurlingtonEnglish is named in the AGE Grant.
These licenses from Burlington English, Inc. are considered sole-source and are exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education 6A-1.012 purchasing policies as copyrighted materials. |

| Funding for this program is budgeted and available in the amount of $62,400 from the AGE Grant, Project 2724. This amount covers licensing costs for the 2014/2015 school year. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| All Adult Education ESOL students will be tested for English proficiency prior to class placement. Once placed, classroom instruction through various methodologies will be evaluated through continued regular assessments to determine student growth and proficiency. | |
