Accept the Lowest and Best Bids Submitted by Synergy Recycling of Central Florida – Invitation to Bid (ITB) #14027-DST Motor Oil Disposal Service (Business Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
This bid was prepared at the request of the Transportation Department to establish fixed pricing to be paid to Hillsborough County Public Schools for the disposal of used motor oil. Services include removal of the used oil and transportation to a recycling facility. Recycled motor oil can be combusted as fuel for plant boilers, heating applications, cement kilns, distilled into diesel fuel, and due to its lubrication properties, can be recycled indefinitely. This recommendation has been reviewed by the Transportation Department Manager.
The initial term of the contract is for a one-year period with four one-year, renewals. All prices offered are firm for at least one year from the effective date. This contract may be renewed by the Superintendent, per the terms of the specifications |

This item will generate revenue for the district and alleviate the expense of compliance with oil disposal guidelines. Revenues were $6,578 for 2013/2014, and $8,000 for 2011/2012. An increase in the revenue paid will generate approximately $27,110 in additional funds for the district. | |
EVALUATION | |
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration Team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract. | |
