Accept the Piggyback of Bid #12-21, USDA Commodity Processing Between Jennie-O Store Sales LLC and St. Lucie Public Schools (Business Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) will be utilizing the St. Lucie Public Schools agreement to purchase turkey sausage patties, product #6132.
The initial term of the contract is for two years beginning July 24, 2012, and may be renewed for two additional one-year periods. Applicable Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) 6A-1.01(6) and district policy allows purchases from contracts awarded by other government agencies, district school boards, Department of Management Services (DMS), etc., at or below specified prices. This contract may be renewed by the Superintendent, per the terms of the specifications. |

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes) | |
Expenditures are $508,000 for 2013/2014, and $362,822 for 2012/2013. Currently, we purchase regular pork sausage patties at $20.59 per case. To further meet United States Department of Agriculture lower sodium guidelines for the National School Lunch Program, HCPS is switching to turkey sausage patties at $19.05 per case. This will result in an annual savings of approximately $37,936. | |
EVALUATION | |
Contract Administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract. | |
