| Approve the Memorandum of Understanding Between The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (HCPS) and Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA Success After School for the Implementation and Operation of Before-School and After-School Programs (YMCA) (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to establish an agreement between HCPS and YMCA concerning their respective roles and responsibilities. The HCPS and YMCA have partnered to provide school-age care since 1981. For 33 years, the strength of this collaboration has ensured quality care for students and families in our community. This 2-year memorandum of understanding is in effect August 19, 2014, through August 18, 2016.
The YMCA supports several projects within the school district other than providing before, after and summer school programs. HCPS values these contributions with respect to the importance of partnerships and attaining the district’s mission. Based on the estimated dollar value of these projects, HCPS agrees to modify the standard rate calculated using the "Facilities Usage and Rental Fee Agreement.” |

| Fees paid by the YMCA to HCPS for the use of school sites shall be used toward operation of the school facility. The amount of $350,000 for the 2014/2015 school year and $375,000 for the 2015/2016 school year, for a total of $725,000 to be paid to SBHC for the period of August 19, 2014, through August 18, 2016. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| Annual principal and parent surveys will be conducted and results will be shared with school, SBHC or designee. Satisfaction surveys will be among the tools used for evaluation. Surveys will employ a Likert scale, which asks respondents to specify their level of agreement to a statement. | |
