Approve the Purchase of Student Licenses for Waterford Early Learning Comprehensive, Computer-Based Curriculum for the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program for the 2014/2015 School Year (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Waterford Early Learning™ (Waterford) is an online software application utilized in the classroom and home. Waterford starts children with the basics, and adapts automatically to give each student a learning experience that’s focused on his or her exact needs.  On-demand reporting gives teachers more insight into the learning process through in-depth analysis of a single student or a snapshot of the entire class.

Waterford Early Math and Science Program provides young learners comprehensive instruction in: early math numbers and operation, geometry, algebra, measurement, and data analysis.  The integrated science curriculum emphasizes exploration and the scientific method while teaching earth, life, and physical science.

In accordance with the Florida Department of Education, Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012 (11)(b), the requirement for requesting competitive solicitations for commodities or contractual services from three or more sources is hereby waived as authorized by Section 1010.04 (4)(a), FS for purchase by district school boards of educational services and any type of copyrighted materials where such materials are purchased directly from the owner of the copyright.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $90,600 will be available in the Head Start budget for software license and $15,960 will be available in professional services for the grand total of $106,560.
EVALUATION
Data will be used to develop targeted coaching support and cluster trainings and will be evaluated through continued regular assessments to determine student growth and proficiency.
