| Approve Six-Month Agreement for Technical Services with the Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network (TBAE) to Provide Video Broadcast Services (Deputy Superintendent) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Since 2008, TBAE has carried Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) video programs on the Education Channel with an annual purchase order to cover the a la carte fees. Since 2008, the fees charged by TBAE have not increased, while the average length of School Board meetings has increased, and services provided have expanded to include “indexing” of the archive, and closed captioning. It is recommended that TBAE continue to provide services produced by HCPS, including School Board meetings, Math Homework Hotline, Spotlight on Seniors, Best Kept Secrets, and other programming.
Video broadcasts will continue to be provided on an a la carte basis, however, the hourly fees will be increased (as described in the attached letter) to cover the additional services. The artistic and technical services provided by TBAE are exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education Rule 6A1.012 (11)(a) Purchasing Policies. |
