In an effort to develop principal capacity to improve teaching and learning, Leadership Development and Curriculum and Instruction will partner to facilitate professional development with principals through small group principal meetings throughout the 2014/2015 school year. The focus of the professional development will be on forming and leading Instructional Leadership Teams (ILT) that are able to analyze student work and then develop teacher capacity to effectively teach the Florida Standards as a result of data captured from the student work review.
Cross and Joftus will support the development of the six training sessions and will train Area Leadership Directors, Instructional Leadership Directors, and Curriculum and Instruction representatives, as well as principal coaches, to facilitate the delivery of the training during small group meetings. All principals will begin to form and develop their ILTs during the 2014/2015 school year, and all teams will be fully functioning and regularly using student work and data to drive instructional improvement during the 2015/2016 school year. |
