Approve Application to Apply for 2015 Public Law 874 Funds
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Hillsborough County School District annually applies to the Federal Government for impact funds under Public Law 874.  This law provides funds to supplement the education of students whose parents are in the armed services, work in Federal institutions, or live in Federally subsidized housing.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
The District expects to receive approximately $500,000 for this reimbursement.
EVALUATION
Staff annually reviews changes in Federal Legislation and U.S. Department of Education Rules on application guidelines for Public Law 874 funds to ensure accuracy and best practices.
