Approve Change Order No. Three for Kitchen Renovations at Multiple Sites |

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Student Nutrition Services identified funding to upgrade serving lines and/or cooler freezers at 80 sites. (Schools projected to receive a serving line or freezer-cooler replacement are identified in the attachment.) On October 8, 2013 the Board appointed Rowe Architects Incorporated and The Beck Group to provide design and construction management services. Equipment installation and related remodeling is being accomplished in phases. Sites have been divided geographically into five groups for installation. The Board previously approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) encompassing the equipment purchase for all sites and installation for sites in groups one and two, and subsequently approved a change order adding installation for sites in group three to the project scope. Site-specific installation and remodeling documents have now been completed for sites in groups four and five, and the construction manager has solicited competitive subcontract bids for the work. A change order is required to add this work to the contract. As the cost of the proposed change order exceeds $100,000, Board approval is required. A time extension of 38 days is included for completion of the groups four and five sites. Completion is scheduled for May, 2015. |
