| Approve the Safe & Sound Hillsborough Interlocal Agreement | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| In the fall of 2013 the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) launched the Violence Prevention Collaborative along with other government agencies. After a yearlong process five key goals were identified and appropriate strategies were developed. The BOCC approved a budget to support the implementation of the Violence Prevention Collaborative strategic plan. Supporting agencies are contributing financial and/or in-kind resources to support the implementation.
The Safe & Sound Hillsborough Interlocal Agreement is a result of the initiative. At the September 9, 2014, School Board Meeting the board approved a $5,000 annual sum to take place over a five year period. The funds will be budgeted from non-recurring funds. Due to the nature of the interlocal agreement, the BOCC is asking the School Board to sign first. |
