SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Dale Carnegie Training Tampa Bay at Metropolitan Ministries Partnership School, Hillsborough Girls Academy, and South County Career Center (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Dale Carnegie Training Tampa Bay (Dale Carnegie) will provide 3 hours of training weekly for 8 weeks on the Generation Next: Skills for Success program to approximately 90 students.  The training will include interactive workshops that encourage students to manage their attitudes, build communication skills, and obtain greater confidence.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
This contract will be paid using Title I, Part D grant funds in the amount of $25,000.
EVALUATION
Dale Carnegie will administer a pre- and posttest at the beginning and end of the contract period to participating students to determine if documented objectives of the program were achieved. Progress reports will be shared regularly with district staff, the program supervisor and/or designee to discuss progress of the program objectives during the contract period. Data will be analyzed to determine the success of the program and future contracts with the provider. At the conclusion of the program, a final report will be shared with district staff.
