Recognition of the Crisis Intervention Team (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Our district’s Crisis Intervention Team responds to schools when crises occur, such as the death of a student, teacher, or staff member. The services provided by the Crisis Intervention Team include: individual/group counseling, classroom/large group inservice presentations, consultation with faculty and administration, parent conferences, and agency referrals. During the 2013/2014 school year, our team responded to school sites to address 39 crises and assist over 1,900 students. The Crisis Intervention Team is comprised of school psychologists, school social workers, and a school health consultant—all of whom are employed within the Student Services Division. The team members receive calls for assistance late into the evening and often early in the morning hours. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to the students, faculties, and families in our district.
