SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Accept the Master Services Agreement and Statement of Work with Sunera LLC for Information Security Advisory Assistance (Information and Technology Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This Statement of Work for Information Security Advisory Assistance addresses several of the security related recommended action items listed in the Sunera Information and Technology (IT) Assessment report that was presented to the School Board on April 29, 2014.  The scope is to assist in the establishment of information security functions to gain the latest knowledge and best practices for establishing the appropriate security and privacy processes.  The need for confidentiality to minimize exposure of the District’s network, Sunera’s knowledge gained of the District’s network and systems during the IT Assessment, as well as Sunera’s expertise in security and privacy, uniquely positions Sunera to function in the best interest of the District to provide this assistance.  As stated in 6A-1.102 FLDOE Purchasing Policies, Section 282.0041(14), F.S., allows for “direct negotiation and contract with a vendor or supplier, as best fits the needs of the school district as determined by the district school board.”  The attached Master Services Agreement establishes the contract terms and conditions for the conduct of business between Sunera and the District.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
•Â Align the performance management system with the district’s priorities
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
This agreement represents an amount not to exceed $294,950 of consulting and advisory assistance by Sunera LLC.  As stated in the Statement of Work, it is a time and materials arrangement where the District will only pay for the hours of service provided.  Sunera will provide the services with no additional fees for travel or per diem expenses.  Funds are included in the Information and Technology Division budget for this expense.
EVALUATION
The IT Division will oversee and monitor the conduct of these services including the review of deliverable and the coordination of District resources needed.
