Recognition of Mort Elementary and Adams Middle Schools for Their Inclusion in This Year's Florida Department of Education's "Sparkplugs for Parent Involvement - Exemplary Practices" Booklet (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Annually, the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) publishes Sparkplugs for Parent Involvement/Exemplary Practices which highlights schools they choose that have excellent programs involving parents and family members in meaningful school engagement.
Mort Elementary School was chosen for their Adopt-A-School - Working with Faith-Based Organizations to Improve Student Outcomes program and Adams Middle School was chosen for their “Catching Fire” Literacy Comes Alive! program. These programs were also nominated by the district for the 2014 Parent Involvement Award. |

• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression | |
