SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Naming of the Theater at Orange Grove Middle Magnet School of the Arts
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Orange Grove Middle Magnet faculty, staff, PTA, and community members have requested that the theater at Orange Grove Middle Magnet School be named the Dr. Jack Lamb Theater.

Dr. Lamb began his teaching career at Orange Grove in 1955 as a fourth grade teacher.  Dr. Lamb impacted the lives of many students that went on to be leaders in our school district.  Dr. Lamb served as assistant principal at Foster Elementary School and was instrumental in opening the Physically Handicapped Wing while there.  From 1967 through 1981 Dr. Lamb served as the Director of the Exceptional Student Education program.  During the '80s and '90s Dr. Lamb worked for Pinellas County Schools as the Assistant Superintendent for Exceptional Student Education and retired in 1996.  From 1996 to 2000 Dr. Lamb worked as the Executive Director of the Hillsborough County Association of School Administrators (HASA).  Jack Lamb served three terms as an elected Hillsborough County School Board Member where he worked to expand choices for exceptional children, advocated for the magnet and choice programs and supported new and innovative methods to increase achievement for all students.

It would be an honor to the faculty, staff, PTA, and community members to have the theater at Orange Grove Middle Magnet School be named the Dr. Jack Lamb Theater.
